European Commission Youth Ambassadors BioEconomy Offsite

Bijgewerkt op: 6 apr 2025

This 3-day Offsite Summer Camp aimed to empower a carefully selected group of 15 EU BioEconomy Youth Ambassadors to lead, inform, and inspire others about sustainable and circular BioEconomy, raise awareness, and support EU-related youth processes. The camp included communication and BioEconomy sessions, and the ambassadors started their action plan.

Why facilitate exercises on Team Dynamics for new groups?

Facilitated exercises on team dynamics can be extremely valuable for a group that is getting to know each other and setting goals for the coming period. These exercises are designed to encourage team members to collaborate, communicate, and build trust with each other. By participating in these exercises, team/group members can learn more about each other's strengths and weaknesses, which can help them work together more effectively.

One key benefit of facilitated exercises on team dynamics is that they can help to establish a positive group culture. By creating a safe and supportive environment where team members can share their thoughts and ideas, these exercises can help to build a sense of camaraderie and foster a shared sense of purpose. This can have a positive impact on team morale and motivation, which can in turn improve productivity and outcomes. Additionally, by setting clear goals and expectations for the coming period, these exercises can help to ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards a common objective.

BioEconomy Youth Ambassadors Programme

In May 2022, the European Commission launched a call for applications for Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors. Out of the 325 applications received, 15 individuals were carefully selected to become 2022's EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors. They are between 18 and 32 years old, represent 11 nationalities and live in 12 different Member States. For the next two years, they will lead by example, inform and inspire others about sustainable and circular bioeconomy, reach out to communities, raise awareness about the role of the bioeconomy in everyone’s life, and support the ongoing youth and education related processes of the European Union. 'BioEconomy' as a topic at the European Commission

According to the European Commission, the bioeconomy encompasses the production of renewable biological resources and their conversion into food, feed, bio-based products, and bioenergy. It involves various sectors such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food, and bio-based industries, and aims to promote a more sustainable and circular economic model that makes efficient use of natural resources and reduces waste. The bioeconomy is seen as a key contributor to achieving the EU's goals of sustainable growth and transitioning to a climate-neutral economy. Read more here.
